27th September 2021           DANGEROUS AND ILLEGAL PARKING

Dear Parents/Carers

Last week there was a serious incident involving a family whilst walking home from school. The family were hit by a reversing vehicle, which caused the family unnecessary distress and could have caused serious injury.

We are reminding parents again, when parking your vehicle, you must make sure you are not obstructing driveways of local residents, causing obstructions to other vehicles or parking illegally on double yellow lines outside the school entrance.

Parking illegally and inconsiderately can cause collisions, pedestrians to be in danger and obstruct emergency service vehicles.

Due to this incident we have decided that we will be reporting any illegal parking to the police, this may result in you receiving a fine or points to your license.

We strongly recommend, where possible, that children walk to and from school to avoid congestion on our school roads and to reduce the risk of further accidents happening.

We appreciate your support in this endeavour of keeping our pupils and community safe.
